A day long Seerat conference was organised byDebates and Seminar Committee of GDC Bomai in collaboration with NSS unit of the collegeon 1^st of June, 2024. The aim and objective of the conference was to highlight the different aspects of Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) life.  The event was attended by the students including teaching as well as non-teaching faculty. Retired Professor Dr Abdur Rahman War acted as Chief Guest and Mr. Mohamad Ibrahim Beigh served as special guest for the occasion. The event started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat-i-Sharief. At the very outset Prof. Mir Shabir Ahmad, Associate Professor Chemistry, welcomed the esteemed guests through a well-crafted introductory speech. The welcome address was followed by speech of the Principal of the college, Prof. Dr Aijaz Ahmad Hakak, who introduced the audience to the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) with special emphasis on the values of righteousness, piety, honesty, morality and sincerity propounded by the beloved prophet.

A very comprehensive lecture was delivered by renownedreligious scholar,Rtd. Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahman War Ex- Hod Arabic, Amar Singh College Srinagar, on the Seerat of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He discussed set of principles from the teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and deliberated deeply on the message of truce, amity, friendship and tolerance and stressed on the need to follow these principles. He advocated the younger strengths to incorporate them to improve their lives. Student Speakers unlocked their hearts by delineating manifold sides of charismatic persona of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The guests were fairly felicitated and participant speakerswere awarded with certificates of participation.   The role of dais in charge was performed by Mehvish Noor-student of BG6th Semester, who manoeuvred the dais by her extra ordinary oratory skills.A  light and modest refreshment was served to participants. The Programme culminated with a formal vote of thanks by Prof. Mudasir Ahmad Assistant Professor and Head, Department of English GDC Bomai.
